Dapper in
white tie and top hat, Roy takes the gloved
hand of the lovely lady at the Paramount Hotel Ballroom, fox-trotting'round
the dance floor to the red-hot sounds of Snooks Friedman and His Memphis Stompers.
Sure-footed and nimble, he can do the Lindy-Hop without losing apetal
from his carnation or breaking a sweat in his elegant tuxedo. Fred and Ginger
beg him for dance tips and when James Cagney saw him do the Cakewalk, he switched
from being a Hollywood hoofer to a Hollywood hoodlum, never to put on
tap shoes again |
